The most dangerous cars are the ones that don't look like it.
This F80 has been through two lives. The first build was a full performance build — fueling, cooling, tune, suspension, all of it done properly. Then it came back to near stock appearance. This time it's getting rebuilt the right way, documented properly, with the exterior finally catching up to what's underneath.
The S55 is a strong engine when you do the work. High-pressure fuel pump, low-pressure fuel pump, EU5 injectors, upgraded charge pipes and downpipes, the full ECUtek stack with a flex fuel tune. The cooling system is comprehensive — Wagner top mount intercooler, full CSF suite, and the Mosselman MSL65-80 oil cooler system that this engine needs when you're pushing real power.
The crank hub is done. The valve cover is done. The reliability work most people skip is done. The only things left are cosmetic — and that's what the current chapter is about.
